Feeling Christmasy and avoiding shopping
So I was just about to go out shopping, when a ring on the bell and the Mr Delivery man has battled through the snow with my first box of books! Very exciting, so I decided to get festive and creative, before I put the tree up and instead put the christmas lights to good use. Then I can then curl up with the books and put the CD on and be transported to a New Orleans Christmas.
Watch this space for more pictures and reviews...but must go shopping first!
The items in this photo are:
Fireside Stories
Winter Shadow - which incidentally is one of Barefoot's growing range of chapter book, yes Barefoot doesn't just do picture books.
New Orleans Christmas ( CD)- click on the link to listen to a sample too.

Children's Book Week
It's Children's Book Week next week ( 4th October-8th October) a perfect time for storytelling, book activities and just to cuddle up with a good book.
To celebrate children's book week tell me your favourite children's book from your childhood, your kid's favourite book or just any children's book worthy of mention. Doesn't have to be Barefoot!
One name picked at random on 10th October 2010 will win the £10’s worth of Barefoot Books of your choice.
To start you off here's some of my favourite childhood books:
Chronicles of Narnia series by CS Lewis
Tom's Midnight Garden by Phillipa Pearce
Meg and Mog by Jan Pienowski
and now:
Big Red Bath by (the wonderful) Julia Jarman
Granny went to Market by Stella Blackstone (Barefoot)
Over to you.......x

Kid's Garden has just won a Tillywig Toy Award ( no I hadn't heard of Tillywig either)
Neither the less it is another award winning product for Barefoot Books
Kid's Garden is lovely box of cards featuring activities in the garden regardless if you have a huge garden or a small window box. Even better it in the summer sale at the moment ( until end of July).
If you like this try other Barefoot activity cards
